ITINERARY
DAY 1
- Upon arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport, you will meet a representative from Fits Holidays.
- Check in at the designated hotel in Dambulla/Sigiriya.
- Experience an evening safari at Minneriya National Park—an integral part of the elephant corridor that links with Kaudulla and Wasgomuwa parks. This park offers year-round sightings of elephant herds. Among the 24 mammal species residing in the park, you can spot elephants, leopards, sloth bears, spotted deer, sambar deer, wild buffalo, wild pig, grey langurs, purple-faced leaf monkeys, three mongoose species, porcupines, and Indian pangolins. Additionally, Minneriya National Park boasts a recorded count of over 170 bird species.
DAY2
- An early morning excursion to Sigiriya Rock Fortress, also known as the Lion’s Rock, situated in Sri Lanka’s Matale district. This historical site, built by King Kassapa, comprises ruins encircled by gardens, ponds, and assorted structures, earning its place as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Veiled in captivating tales, this remarkable rock formation’s ascent takes about 45 minutes to an hour, revealing a breathtaking panoramic view from its summit. Witness the fusion of ancient royal rule and technology in an era long forgotten.

- Explore the ancient city of Polonnaruwa – the island’s second-largest kingdom. Today, this city stands as one of the most meticulously planned archaeological sites in the country, showcasing the discipline and grandeur of the kingdom’s early rulers. Its tranquility and magnificence were immortalized in the 1982 Duran Duran music video “Save a Prayer.” Recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage site, Polonnaruwa boasts attractions like the Lankathilaka temple and a monumental stone Buddha statue. Organized Buddhist pilgrimages lead visitors through ancient temple ruins, stupas, and even Hindu temples within this historical site.

- Breakfast at will be served at the hotel, followed by check out and a journey to Kandy.
- En route to Kandy, explore the Dambulla Cave Temples, also recognized as the Golden Temple of Dambulla, a World Heritage Site located in the central region of Sri Lanka. Positioned 148 kilometers east of Colombo and 72 kilometers north of Kandy, Dambulla stands as the country’s most extensive and well-maintained cave temple complex.
- Visit a spice garden in Matale.
- Evening Cultural Performance – Immerse yourself in a traditional Kandyan showcase featuring the cobra move, veil move, and the Ginisila (a display showcasing mastery over fire). The vibrant and captivating performance culminates with a breathtaking fire-walking act.
- Check in at the designated hotel in Kandy.
DAY 4
- Breakfast will be served at the hotel.
- Explore Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic and attend the evening pooja ceremony at this revered site in Sri Lanka. This sacred place safeguards Lord Buddha’s tooth relic and holds significant reverence for Buddhists in our country. After the ceremony, allocate approximately one hour to discover this historical complex, brimming with stories from our land’s past.
- Explore the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens, where you’ll leisurely traverse the vast Royal Botanical Gardens, sprawling over 150 acres with lush lawns and pathways. Experience towering coconut palms, impressive giant bamboos, and the mesmerizing orchid house boasting a diverse collection of local and international plant species, offering an enriching botanical insight.
